i have been trying to learn css for a while now. I have tried many sites like w3schools,codeacademy, html dog and many others. I feel i cant really get to grips with the basics i tried watching noob to ninja series then tried to follow him and it wouldnt work for me. I have looked on the internet for hours and days but cant find a good resource for css. If someone could reccomend me a good site or video tuttrial it would be much appreciated.thanks in advance fozzer.
i have a terrible time learning from tutorials as well. you might want to try just... building something. by that i mean, think of an idea for a site, or even find an existing one you like, and try re/creating it yourself. as questions come up, google as you go. if you find an interesting effect on a site, look at the source code to see how they achieved it. install firebug or your browser's equivalent to make inspections easier, and also to fiddle with things live, without having to save and upload.
i believe using these practices in parallel with a tutorial/learning site will help you. the nice thing about the internet is that it's really hard to break it. so if you make mistakes, no sweat.
I hear that place is great for learning web design and development.
