I do believe that designers should strive to tell a story in the design, and this site certainly does. Though I'm not quite sure what story lol.

I agree that is nice, in terms of story telling, it's basically like reading someone a story about some great glue that never looses it's stick, and then selling them that glue when you are finished. Only the words are your website, and the glue is your product!
it is funky, but seems it would be pretty simple to do with transparent images.....
although it is pretty funky, I don't think it is slick, and I don't think it would get me reading and staying, too much wasted space and scrolling for me.... sorry
