[Solved] Securing Wordpress site

    I backed up my wordpress site and now want to secure it. Where is the htaccess file that I edit to put in some security codes? or where would I place a new htaccess file?

    why is it when I put an htaccess file into my site, none of my pages show up but the main page?

    Because you're overwriting the htaccess that WordPress generates for the permalinks.
