I find the inbuilt bookmark managers very messy and after a while it takes a long time to find a site I bookmarked. Is there a application that makes this easy
and hopefully something that can sync with the browsers (so that when bookmark in the browser, the app pics it up)

I think you can sync bookmarks with your Google account. I've been using Rockmelt for a while as it syncs bookmarks and RSS feeds and all other types of wonderful things.
I don't use a dedicated bookmark manager, however, so I can't help you much there!
