Sleek Custom Photographer's Wordpress site...criticism/feedback welcome!

  • Just launched this one. Really sleek Wordpress site, really took advantage of Wordress' related posts and menus (see the blog).

Also some cool jQuery running around (Check out the Applause/Testimonials page)!

We feel it came out great but would love to hear what you guys think about it:

  • Looks very nice. The color scheme works. It might be a little bit boring, but it does look sleek. Love the jQuery testimonial thing, very cool.
  • It looks really nice, clean on top/view-able part. comment: what will you do when you have more than 4 galleries, will the entire site shift down/left/right to allow for additional lines. Might want to rethink menu design... Also the fonts used for headings on the other pages (such as on families - FAMILIES and for FAQ ques) don't know if it is my browser but it looks kind of scrunched/messy, thus not clean/does not match the rest of the sites look/feel. One more picky thing, You do not capitalize any names/sentences, it doesn't look artistic (maybe due to the font being used), it just really stands out to me...
  • As always you guys have done a very clean job.

That only thing I'd change is the main nav (top) and the side nav (left, when on inside pages). For the side nav (left), I feel like the header should be aligned to the left. Since it's centered, it just makes the list of pages themselves look misaligned to the left. Also, the added letter-spacing might be throwing me a little bit.

I think the main nav can be styled a little bit more. It looks a little bland at the moment. I like the idea of not using a drop down, really easy to use - just would like a little color maybe? Some Google Webfont action perhaps?
  • I think it looks great except for the right aligned text in the right sidebar.
Viewing on iPhone. It creates such a big gap in between both sidebars.
I do like that testimony page!
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Thanks for the input guys, really helps!

@Doc - I tried the text alignment you mentioned, feels good, I think I'll stick with it. The nav was left pretty bland intentionally, really wanted to bring the focus into the images since they are so vibrant. What we did do though, is make the Social Media buttons default to color and turn gray on hover...this adds a subtle amount of color to the nav without getting too crazy with design elements.

@moetski - The font we used is an odd one...its really nice and it fits his branding, but there are some words/letters that the font scrunches up on, its really frustrating. I did the best I could with it, short of getting a new font. The uppercase/lowercase thing is a client request, so while I'm not keen on it, they wanted it that way.

    Thanks again guys!
