Shall I again delete the database and restore? What is the way I should proceed?
Hi Guys/Gals, Plan [1] I am uploading WP 2.7-RC1. (I'll keep in separate directory both the 2.6.2 version WP that was working and the 2.6.3 version WP that started the whole process of quirking.) I am going to feed the wp-config particulars of the former database that worked. Rest all would be WP 2.7-RC1
[2] Theme would be Plaintxtblog
[3] If the previous database + the new version WP2.7-RC1 + plaintxtblog, a new theme, works I will celebrate. If these 3 steps does not get my website site online, then I will delete the data base and create a duplicate database with the same db-name, Auth Key, etc. [3]A I will restore from backup of my database. Thereby, I believe, I shall not loose my contents that are in the database. [3]B The other option would be to have a new database - it amounts to a new install. Then I login to admin panel and restore files through wp-admin restore.
Requirements # This web site features ASK DOCTOR. Thus I wish to have homepage with contact form. Cool. # Categorized links of each post [I have over 100 posts on blogger site] can stay in the sidebar. So navigation and menu becomes important. Unobtrusive, uncluttered, quick and easy to locate required topic. # The site will be user/mobile/future friendly.
I shall keep an eye to check if someone peeps in and gives a helping hand. Else, I learn by trial and error. I have basic understanding of xhtml, little of css and lesser of php. So, do not assume too much. However, I know to follow instructions.
Have a fantabulous weekend. Dr. Ashok Koparday Chris, it is 290 words 1613 characters, including this sentence.
