I have a friend who owns a small print shop and was asking the best way to get a means to upload larger files (30mb to maybe like 500mb; too large to email) to some place he can easily retrieve it.
On a standard hosting package would they run into bandwidth issues? Possibly a service might be the way to go depending on the cost? Just curious if someone has had any success and can speak to it.
I am actually having this issue right now as well. One site I'm working on calls for large audio file uploads, but the host (godaddy) doesn't allow it, I will be curious to see what kind of solutions come up. I do know that it can be done via FTP but i think that's a pain...
In this type of situation, I really think it's best to use a third-party service. For any file transfers that I need to do between clients I create a folder for them in Dropbox and get them to use that.
Thanks for the suggestion Chris. I'll check it out. @Doc - I use dropbox with these guys because they print my business cards and the like, but I'm not seeing a way to use it in reverse for people getting files to the printer.
Yeah I discovered Godaddy's restriction on this after hours of pulling my hair out because nothing was working lol.
